Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Matthieu Hoareau, publisher of BT Revival (full contact details in the legal notice). For any question about your data: [email protected].
BT Revival does not sell any data and does not show any advertising.
The data we process
Your BT Revival account
- Data: username (public: it is shown in the launcher, in game and in the leaderboards), e-mail address (private: it is used to log in and is never shown to other players), password (never stored as is: only an Argon2id hash, which cannot be reversed, is saved), dates of account creation, address confirmation and last login, version and date of acceptance of the terms of use, role (player, moderator, administrator) and, where applicable, the duration and reason of a sanction. The history of the team's actions on your account (sanction, renaming) is kept for one year.
- Why: to create and manage your account, identify you in the launcher and in game, and enforce the terms of use.
- Legal basis: performance of the terms of use that you accept.
- How long: as long as your account exists. An account that is never confirmed is deleted after 7 days; an account with no login for 3 years is deleted. You can request the deletion of your account at any time.
Your friends
- Data: your friends list, the friend requests sent and received, and the players you have blocked. Your friends see your username and your status (online, in game, in a match or offline).
- Why: to show the same friends list in the launcher and in game.
- Legal basis: performance of the terms of use.
- How long: as long as the friendship, request or block exists, and at most as long as your account exists. Your status is never saved: it is kept in memory for a few minutes, until the launcher or the game renews it.
Your in-game progress
- Data: your character (appearance, name = your username), your level and your experience, in-game currencies (gold, diamonds, star coins), outfits and items obtained, your ranking and your match statistics, progress on missions and the season pass, and the roles shown under your username. The team can correct these values from the administration panel (every change is recorded in the team's history).
- Why: to get your progress back on any PC, with your account.
- Legal basis: performance of the terms of use.
- How long: as long as your account exists.
Your logins
- Data: hash of the session token, device type (“Launcher Windows”), dates of creation, use and expiry of the session.
- Why: to keep you logged in (“Stay logged in”) and to detect session theft.
- Legal basis: performance of the terms of use and our legitimate interest in securing accounts.
- How long: a session lasts at most 60 days (12 hours without “Stay logged in”); it is erased 30 days after it ends.
Codes sent by e-mail
- Data: hash of the 6-digit code and number of attempts.
- Why: to confirm your e-mail address, to change your password.
- How long: a code is valid for 30 minutes (confirmation) or 15 minutes (password), then erased within 24 hours.
Your IP address
- Why: to limit abuse (too many login attempts, account creations or codes sent), protect the service and enforce sanctions (in cases of serious abuse, an address may be blocked for a limited period).
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the service and your accounts.
- How long: for anti-abuse limits, it is kept in memory for at most one hour; the address of each successful login to your account is saved with it for 90 days; a blocked address stays blocked for the duration of the sanction; the server's technical logs (IP address, date, requested URL, response) are kept for at most 30 days. Only administrators can see IP addresses.
The website and downloads
We do not collect any data on the website: no cookies, no analytics, no advertising. To display the website and deliver the launcher and game updates, our host Cloudflare technically processes your IP address (file delivery and protection against attacks).
What stays on your PC
This data stays on your computer and is not sent to us: the launcher's settings and log (folder
%APPDATA%\BT Revival), your session token, stored in the Windows Credential
Manager, and the last known account (ID, username and masked e-mail), which lets you play when the
account service cannot be reached. “Log out” erases the token and the last known account. A copy of
your game save is also kept on your PC, so you can play even when the account service cannot be
reached (it is sent to your account as soon as the service responds).
Who receives your data
Only the publisher of BT Revival and, for usernames and sanctions, the moderators have access to it. Our service providers process some data on our behalf, solely for the needs of the service:
- OVH SAS (France): hosting of the account service, on a server located in Singapore;
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): sending e-mails (your address and the content of the message);
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting of the website and downloads, protection of the service.
Transfers outside the European Union
The account service is hosted by OVH in its Singapore data center: your account data is stored there. This transfer outside the European Union is governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Cloudflare, Inc. is located in the United States. These transfers are governed by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Security
Communications with the account service are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords and codes are never stored in plain text. Session tokens change at each renewal, and reusing an old token closes the session. The number of attempts is limited, and only the publisher has access to the data. Database backups are encrypted.
Minors
If you are under 15, you must obtain the consent of one of your parents (or of your legal representative) before creating an account.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, object to its processing or receive it in a readable format (portability). Write to [email protected] from your account's e-mail address, stating your username. We reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated; in the event of a significant change, we will notify you in the launcher.
